OVERALL •
To say the least, Marilyn is a very pretty young lady. Her long wavy reddish-brown hair goes to around the middle of her back, always in perfect health, along with bangs, that go down slightly past her eyebrows. She has the tendency though, to pick out the slightest fault, and make sure it’s well known to those who compliment her. As ridiculous as it sounds, she is afraid to be pretty, because of the added fear of disappointing those who see this beauty. Her small nose is especially pretty, her lips average, along with the rest of her body. Her figure is quite scrawny without any muscle, as she doesn’t do any physical activity on a daily basis, yet, she typically eats healthily. Also, when she smiles, two dimples are found, and to those who truly want to be her friend, want to always keep her smiling, instead of the slight frown that usually is found on her face.
On a normal school day, you might see Marilyn like this: shoulder bag in hand, she wears a typical combination of either loose or elegant clothing (though she tends to stay away from anything too tight), such as a floral print sundress, brown sandals, and her favourite worn, brown shoulder bag. At home, you would find her on the roof in an outfit similar to one of that nature, guitar in her arms, strumming to a song she had just written that day. Bohemian is a look the Marilyn typically strives towards, as she loves the way the models who wear the type of clothing look: so calm, cool, and yet with a touch of sophistication. Of course, this could just be a faze, or not, as you’d never really know with a girl her age.

POSITIVE TRAITS •
-- Artistic – If bones were colored, Marilyn would certainly color them every color the world possessed. She loves painting, drawing, and photography. Using these to create stories reflecting her life, or even the stories of the characters in her book, Marilyn has so many ideas, she can’t help but jot them down every once and a while.
-- Caring – When one of Marilyn’s friends has a problem, she wants to listen. When she hears the news of such thing, she will have had a playlist of up-beat songs ready, guitar in hand, and a box of tissues, along with a shoulder to cry on. Loyal to friends who are just as loyal, this is one of the best traits that Marilyn possesses.
-- Optimistic – Attempting to look on the bright side of things doesn’t appeal to many people, but Marilyn thinks otherwise. It gives her time to reflect, and she now has the attitude of ‘It could be worse’. She has found it’s a major improvement than being pessimistic about situations in life, especially with some things that she has been through in her life.
NEGATIVE TRAITS •
-- Short Tempered – Yes, Marilyn has such a short temper. Even the slightest thing can sometimes set her off. Which is why people try and either stay away from her, or get on her good side. Whenever you talk to Marilyn, you must be careful of what you say, in case what you say, is the wrong thing, and makes her snap. You would think that a wallflower would be quiet, and good natured, but sometimes, even the quietest of us can blow up.
-- Jealous – Green with envy, though cliché is very true for Marilyn’s case. She hates how her boyfriend (The White) is suddenly all over her best friend (The Waif). Taking it personally, Marilyn wants revenge. Yet, her shyness always seems to get in the way. Maybe she just needs someone to push that to the side.
-- Can Keep a Grudge – Not one to let things go, Marilyn could sometimes stay upset over something that happened a year ago, depending on how bad it was. Of course, she will usually forgive and forget… as long as you do it before she does.
PERSONALITY •
~ Quiet
Marilyn isn’t ‘the wallflower’ for nothing, that’s for sure. She isn’t really one to socialize to just anyone at a party, should she actually show up at someone’s party, or even get an invitation. Though she wishes that her small number of friends would rise to higher numbers, she just never seems to have the courage to go up and talk to someone. Inside, she fears that the person she would decide to talk to would laugh at her face, and perhaps even spread a huge, nasty rumor about her to anyone who would listen. Of course, when someone else makes the ‘first move’, if you will, she will certainly open up and become friendly. At times, it takes a few slightly awkward conversations until Marilyn is used to you, but the results are definitely worth it.
~ Hopeless Romantic
A very big dreamer, Marilyn always fantasizes about romance. When she was younger, she wanted her Prince Charming to sweep her off her feet, and carry her to his castle, waiting for him every day. As she became older, in her tween years she longed for her best guy friend to realize she was the one, and fall in love with her forever. Finally, now that she’s older, Marilyn wishes that some day while she plays guitar when she thinks no one is listening, that one man will come up to her and ask her her name, and the rest would be history. Of course, Marilyn sadly knows this is least likely to happen, but it never really hurts to fantasize, correct?
~ Generous
This one seems like quite a positive thing to posess, but Marilyn sometimes finds it a curse. It’s as if her brain has never heard of the answer ‘no’, and that she must please every person that makes any request to her. People who had became her friend before were just there to take advantage of Marilyn. They told her stories of how they had ‘forgotten’ to do certain assignments, how they ‘needed’ a ‘little help’ during the exam that day, and the fact that Marilyn had fallen for it had got the youth in a lot of trouble.

HISTORY •
Born on the 18th of April, 1994, Marilyn was born in… well, she’s not exactly sure. In fact, she isn’t even sure of who her birth-parents are. You see, Marilyn was in fact, adopted, by loving parents who wanted the best for her. Having read an article in the newspaper about a couple adopting a baby girl from China, they decided to adopt, but not in such a far-away country. Picking instead an adoption agency close by, they found the young girl, having been abandoned to foster parents who took her in out of pity. The parents were thrilled to have their very own daughter, despite that she didn’t share a lick of their DNA.
Which would explain their differences. Marilyn, a non-athletic, shy, music lover was raised by her father, a biker and runner, and her mother, an out-going woman, who wanted her daughter to be just as social as she was. It wasn’t nessisarily the case, unfortunately. Marilyn was shy still, as she entered kindergarten, only to be-friend two girls in her class. They were a close knit bunch, until grade one had sperated them, as Marilyn had chosen to be in French Immersion (this, of course, was during her public school days) and the other two had stuck to the English classes. Marilyn had no where to turn- she had no friends at all, until she met a girl, who was also an adopted child.
The two bonded, and decided to become best friends, seeing as they were both friend-less that year. Yet, there was always something weird going on between the two. They would argue, constantly. They were both a little bit competitive with each other, and the other girl, she seemed to always humiliate Marilyn in the worst ways, along with spreading rumors of the young child. Poor Marilyn had no idea that this was happening of course, and the child stayed ‘friends’ with the girl until a fall out at a summer camp they both decided to go to. Marilyn had been in tears over the fact that her ‘friend’ was in a fight with her once again, stealing her new friend from camp. She ended up crossing the street to the building there, where the bathroom was located at. On her way back though, she almost met her end. A reckless car speeding almost hit the youth’s body, such a close call, surely something had stopped it from actually happening.
After that, Marilyn stopped talking to the ‘friend’. She wasn’t even sure why, exactly. The friend hadn’t done anything wrong, it was in fact, the reckless drive. But all the same, the two didn’t speak again, until the seventh grade. Marilyn was the unfortunate victim of a nasty rumor, that the whole school had somehow ended up hearing, and believing. It might not have seemed so bad if you were to put it this way, the short way, but it was so bad, for approximately a week, Marilyn had came home each day crying. Her mother had tried to reach out, wondering why her daughter was so upset, but the young girl blamed it each time on the stress of schoolwork. After the second week of the same routine, Marilyn had had enough. She begged her mother to enroll her in another school, anyone other than this one. Not wanting to see her daughter so upset anymore, her mother agreed. The family was considering moving to Radcliff Heights, Connecticut either way, and it would be nice to have a new house to renovate and re-decorate. Also, there was Radcliff High, a school that she had thought Marilyn would love going to in her high school years.
Which resulted in Marilyn Barker, here now a student of Radcliff High. She, of course, met her friends of this day during her grade eight year, and now had a close bond with a few of them. She had wanted to escape the drama that held at her old school, but she always had a little feeling in her stomach that the drama was just about to start.
